Summer Fall 1995 |
In August/September 1995 I organized a group and hired a guide so we
could climb Grand Teton in Wyoming. We conducted a one-day climb
with the guide so he could assess our skill level and teach us new skills
such as body belaying. We woke up the next morning to begin our two-day
approach and climb and unfortunately found snow down to ~7,000 ft.
The climb was canceled. We spent a week in the area hiking (up to
11,000 ft in the snow), sport climbing at lower elevations, and sightseeing
Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
The Grand Teton Range
The following shots were from a ~25 mile hike a friend and I took into
the Teton Range. We hiked in one
canyon, went up and over an 11,000 ft pass (with snow up to knee level),
and out an adjacent canyon
Near the start of the hike just beyond Jenny Lake. The storms held off but threatened all day.

Part way up to the top of the pass.
Heading down from the pass into the adjacent canyon.
