June 2006
6/1: After a hike Michelle and Cooper stopped by the Apgar Village visitor center. Michelle told Cooper they had to run in quickly and then hurry to get home (we were having a guest for dinner but Michelle didn't tell Cooper this). Cooper asked "What's your rush?" 6/3: We were eating lunch during a hike to Redstone Falls and asked Cooper to try a piece of papaya (in our trail mix). He didn't want to but finally did at our urging. He took a bite and gagged and spit up. A day later we asked Cooper if he wanted to try another piece of papaya and he quickly retorted "What? Do you want me to throw up again?" 6/5: Grandpa T had surgery while we were visiting Glacier and was not feeling well. G&G T had hoped to visit us but Grandpa T was not feeling up to the trip. Although Cooper would have loved to see them he said matter-of-factly to Grandpa T on the phone "If you're sick you can't come because we don't want to be around sick people." 6/10: I was driving fast on a dirt road when Michelle told me to slow down. She then told a story about how one of her high school classmates lost control of her car and died on a dirt road - emphasizing (again) that I should slow down. Cooper listened and when Michelle was done said "That's good advice" We spent five weeks in Glacier National Park from mid-May to mid-June. See more pictures from our trip by clicking here. Hiking the Snyder Creek trail near Lake McDonald. For the June 2-4 weekend we camped on the east side of the park in the Many Glacier Valley. Incredible scenery. Hiking to Baring Falls in the rain. This trail starts at the bridge near the west end of St. Mary Lake. Throwing rocks in the water at "Rocky Beach" on Lake McDonald. Cooper and Michelle spent many hours here during our five weeks in Glacier. xploring one of the red buses at Apgar Village courtesy of Jammer Joe Getting ready to board the Desmet for a cruise on Lake McDonald |
