March 2006
3/9: Cooper asked me to stay in the bathroom with him while he went potty. He said he really liked it when I stay with him. Then he said "It's just part of my life" Then he looked at me and said "Hmm, I guess it's just part of your life too" 3/9: We were laughing about stuff and Cooper turned to me and said "Is that funny or what?" 3/9: We were talking about things we were thankful for and Daddy said he was thankful for laughter. Daddy said laughter makes you feel good. Cooper said "Yeah, it's kind of like medicine." 3/21: We were at the Valley Forge National Historic Park gift shop when Cooper saw and fell in love with an old-style Revolutionary war hat (three-point hat). He referred to it as his 'prospector hat'. He asked if we could buy it and Michelle and I both told him that we didn't have room to bring it on the plane. He was very disappointed and really wanted the hat. About 5 minutes later Cooper came up to me and told me he had a 'great idea....I could wear it on the plane!' 3/27: Cooper was falling asleep in the car on the way to the airport. Michelle told him he needed to stay awake to help carry stuff at the airport (it was just the two of them). He said "I tell you what....you let me sleep until we get to the airport and then I'll carry my bag when we get there."
We then spent a couple days in Washington, D.C. Cooper really enjoyed the Air and Space Museum and the National Zoo. He saw other memorials and museums on the National Mall but they didn't capture his attention as much.
After Washington, D.C. we headed to Philadelphia to spend time with Michelle's Aunt Ann and her kid's families.Cooper was very excited to go to Ann's house (who he knows pretty well from her trips to Chicago). Now he's excited to go back east to play more with his cousins who he got to know better on this trip. When Michelle and Cooper left for the airport Cooper asked her if she was as sad as he was to be leaving.
