9/1: Cooper went to a 'real' amusement park today for the first time. He earned a ticket to Elitch Garden's for his summer reading program. After telling us that he would not go on a really small unintimidating children's ride alone he surprised us by going on almost every major ride in the park. 9/2: Fletcher blew kisses at Cooper and Dad when he went to bed. 9/18: Fletcher was looking at a picture of Grandpa & Grandma T. He leaned forward and kissed Grandpa's picture. Then he had a big smile on his face. 9/23: Fletcher is starting to let go of things and balance a little more on his own. 9/25: Fletcher stood up without grabbing anything. He just boosted himself up from a sitting position. 9/27: We had movie night and watched Eight Below. There was a scary part where a sea lion lunged out of a whale carcass at one of the dogs. It was scary and we all jumped. I asked Cooper if he was ok. He looked at me and shook his head and said "I almost pulled hippo's tail off!" 9/28: Fletcher climbed the whole flight of stairs on his own. 9/28: Cooper was talking to Grandma W and he told her "It just so happens...." 9/28: Cooper went to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party. It was his first time there. We always told him in the past that we could not go there because the pizza is bad. He now agrees that it is bad. Warming up on some of the smaller rides at Elitch Gardens before hitting almost every major ride in the park.
Fletcher rode a ferris wheel for the first time. He liked it.
Cooper signed up for flag football. He seems to like playing but doesn't get the whole concept yet.
Cooper had to get his first pair of glasses. He was disappointed but is accepting them. They are pretty thick so we suspect he really can't see well without correction. We pointed out that the style of the glasses were just like Dad's and Cooper told us that that did not factor into his decision on the frames and that he just liked how they 'fit his face'
Cooper and his cousins Bridget and Katie rode horses near our house. Cooper was a little intimidated by the size of the horses early on but was pretty comfortable with them by the end of the ride. In fact, Cooper and Katie led a 1,200 lb horse down to his stable by themselves at the end of the ride.
Cooper joined Cub Scouts.
Cooper was very excited to lose his third tooth
Fletcher eating an apple for the first time. He reached into the refrigerator bin and grabbed it when Mom was getting one out for Cooper. He was very proud of himself and made a huge mess.
