Day 8: Exam and Passport

< Last Day    Next Day>

Tess had a medical examination for her visa application. Fortunately, no shots since she is under two years old. Unfortunately, she has scabbies.  We're going to try to treat that overnight.  Tess is 30 inches tall and weighs 18 pounds. Sawyer had his medical exam at this same clinic two and a half years ago.

We also took photos for her visa application and applied for her Chinese passport.  After that was done we went shopping for gifts (candy) for the kids in her orphanage.  Tomorrow we will drive two hours each way to see her orphanage. She has been there her entire life until this week. She is getting more attached to Michelle and is showing a few more smiles each day.

The United States consulate is across the street from the medical clinic. We'll go here next week to get Tess's visa.  They are still having problems issuing visas this week.

The building that houses the medical clinic has a wine and hard liquor vending machine in the lobby.

We walked down a side street to go to a local grocery store to buy candy for the kids in Tess's orphanage.
