Day 16: Athens to Florence
Michelangelo's David
We had a long travel day today. Our ship docked in Athens at 7 am. We immediately departed for the Athens airport to fly to Rome. We then took a high-speed train to Florence.
We had timed entry tickets to the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo's David in the evening.
Tess and Nash were looking a little tired after our flight to Rome.

Our apartment was just a short block from The Duomo.

David was amazing. From most angles he looks confident. From one angle though his expression changes and you can see some worry or doubt in his eyes.
This photo with the woman in the foreground gives a great sense of the large size of David.
