Day 12: Buddhist Temple
We met up with our travel group today. Our group consists of 11 families adopting 14 children. We met most of them in Beijing at the start of our trip. These trips consist of three parts. The first part consists of traveling to Beijing and trying to get over jet lag for a few days. The second part is going to the province where your child lives to formally adopt the child and then apply for their passport. The third part is traveling to Guangzhou to apply for a visa. Everyone ends in Guangzhou before flying home.
We are spending the second part and the third part of our trip in Guangzhou because Tess happens to be from the province that Guangzhou is in. Most of our travel group spent their middle part in Zhengzhou. That's where we adopted Sawyer from 2.5 years ago. So, we are starting the third part of our trip now and our travel group just all arrived in Guangzhou yesterday. They all have their kids now. All but two of the kids have some special need and they range in age from 1 to 13.
Today was another down day. We took a tour of a Buddhist temple and the Old Chen House and then ended the day preparing paperwork for our visa appointment later this week.
We now have a second guide because our group is bigger. Her name is Kathy.
Buddhist Temple
Buddist Temple. The tower is leaning like it looks in the photo.
Old Chen House
The building itself is a piece of art work. It also houses gallaries of art.
We bought scrolls for Sawyer and Tess and had their Chinese names written on the scrolls. Sawyer's Chinese name is Zheng Jian An. Tess's Chinese name is Yang Ning Jing.
Tess is starting to show her personality a little more each day. She is a bit of a stinker and is starting to tease us a little bit more. She continues to get motion sickness whenever we drive somewhere. Today was very hot and humid which made her very itchey.
