Day 1 and 2: Denver to Beijing
We drove from Denver to Chicago last Friday to get our kids to Michelle's mom's house. She is watching them during our trip! We had a non-stop flight from Chicago to Beijing. It went faster than expected; about 12 hours in the air.
Arriving in Beijing
George is one of our guides in Beijing. He picked us up at the airport along with ~6 other families who are all adopting from Chinese Children Adoption International. George was also our guide in 2012 when we adopted Sawyer. He's great.
Near our hotel is a shopping area with a four-block long street that is closed to traffic. Plenty of small local shops but also Starbucks, KFC, an Apple store, and upscale retailers.
We got a quick bite to eat. Time to call home and go to bed. We've been up for about 24 hours now.
