Day 13: Meet Tate
We met Tate and became his guardians today. Tomorrow we finalize the adoption. Tate had a lot of tears when his nanny handed him to us. He was scared and sad. Finn tried hard for quite a while to bring him things to comfort him. We got some smiles out of him during the day but he's a little sad and tired.
An American man in our group speaks fluent English and Chinese. He asked Finn (in Chinese) if Finn preferred he talk to him in English or Chinese. Finn told him English!
Tate's nanny is in the background. He cried hard.
Tate opened up at the hotel a little bit before his nap.
We had to wake him so he could 'sign' his adoption paperwork. He did not want to stir.
