Day 14: Finalize Tate's Adoption
We finalized Tate's adoption and applied for his Chinese passport today. He is officially our son today.
Finn really withdrew from us yesterday afternoon and this morning. We got him back this afternoon after Skyping with our Chinese friend Felipe today. We're not sure what Felipe told him but right after the call all was well again. Finn is a serious little boy who acts older than his age. It is good to see him acting his age (and younger even).
Little Tate is charming. Lots of smiles. He surprised us today by singing along when we sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He knew the tune and it sounded like he was singing in English at times.
Tate has a long scar down his chest. He's 19 months old and already has had life-saving open-heart surgery thanks to Show Hope. Show Hope is a Tennessee-based non-profit that provides care for children with acute medical and special needs. Tate was in their flagship care center in China called Maria's Big House of Hope.
We finalized Sawyer's adoption in this same room back in 2012. (The date is wrong in this photo).
