Day 8: Finalize Finn's Adoption
We finalized Finn's adoption today. He's our son now. He is opening up more and is laughing. It is nice to hear. He is also starting to use English words here and there. For example, he said "thank you" a number of times today. This evening is forgot to say it and Michelle said "say thank you". He looked at her a little puzzled and then said in reply "You're welcome"
Even Finn had to "sign" the adoption paperwork.
We had to put red ink thumbprints over all of our signatures.
We received Finn's Chinese passport today. He will fly home using it after we get our US Adoption Visa in Guangzhou.
We also received his abandonment notice. When a child is abandoned the police put a notice in the newspaper. It looks like Finn was found abandoned on 3/10/2009. His birthday was estimated to be the same day. After his abandonment, we think he spent 2 to 2.5 years in an orphanage in Shenyang before going to his foster home.
