At Grand Teton we stayed in a double cabin at Colter Bay.  For the Yellowstone part of our trip we rented a house on the Madison River about 30 minutes northwest of West Yellowstone.  Fly fishermen were in the river all day long.  The setting was amazing.

Denver to Rome

8/20/22

Made it to Rome without a problem. Didn't get much sleep on the plane but I've been pretty awake today.  The campus is absolutely beautiful. I went for a walk earlier today and it was really nice to walk around with all the trees. I took a few pictures of the vineyard.

Tour Rome.  Mass at St. Peter's Basillica

We had brunch and then got on the bus at noon to head into Rome. We took a picture on the steps on Capitoline Hill and started our Rome tour with the church near the top. We then saw a couple more churches as we walked through Rome, threw coins in the Trevi fountain, saw the Pantheon, got gelato, and ended at St. Peter's Basilica. Breathtaking. We got to explore the whole church before mass in one of the chapels inside. We then went back to campus and had dinner with some wine. We had dinner outside and then relocated to the tables outside of the dorm and we formed a big group with people playing guitar. So excited for the coming semester.

8/25/22

We're in Rome doing homework at one of the favorite bars of past UD'ers. We rode through the city on scooters and passed St. Peter's and the Pantheon. Lots of fun.

We went to another bar and a pizza place which was great.

8/26/22

We went to the Etruscan tombs today. They were super cool. They basically carved into the bedrock and created these underground tombs with huge above ground roofs. We had pizza as a pretty big group last night. We went to the beach on the Tyrrhenian Sea after the Etruscans Necropolis (City of the Dead). Really good day overall. One more day of classes, another field trip in the afternoon, and a fancy wine tasting tomorrow night.

We're in a town called Nemi today. It's a volcanic lake.

We also went to the papal palace at Castel Gondolfo.  Beautiful area as well.

We have a wine tasting after dinner when we get back. They're having us "grade" the wines with a bunch of categories.
