Day 13: Rhodes, Greece
We visited Rhodes, Greece today. The island was nice. Asia is behind us across the water and the Aegean and the Mediterranean Sea meet in this area.
Ancient of Stadium of Rhodes
Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes. The original building on this site may have been from the 15th century. The current building is a 1930s or 1940s reconstruction by Italian occupiers. The mosaic floors were incredible and apparently some (or all?) of them were taken from the island of Kos.
Replica of Laocoön and His Sons
(we will see the original in the Vatican Museum)
